Financial Accountant

About the role

Rijk Zwaan Tanzania is seeking a diligent Financial Accountant to join its finance team in Arusha. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations to support senior management decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain legal books and records including general ledger, sales, purchases and inventory.
• Prepare and analyse financial information, producing income statements, balance sheets and other management reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Assist in the preparation of short‑ and long‑term strategic plans, investment and personnel budgets.
• Handle monthly tax payments and ensure timely filing of VAT, provisional tax, WHT, SDL and PAYE returns.
• Support the preparation of the annual financial report, including statements, notes and supporting schedules.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting, capitalization and write‑offs.
• Liaise with external auditors, providing required documentation and facilitating audit processes.
• Maintain orderly filing of all financial documents and perform any additional duties assigned by the Financial Controller.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA (T) certification or significant progress toward completion.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional accounting experience.

Required skills

• Bookkeeping and general ledger management.
• Financial reporting and statement preparation.
• Tax compliance and filing of VAT, provisional tax, WHT, SDL and PAYE.
• Fixed‑asset accounting and capitalisation.
• Audit support and coordination with external auditors.
