Finance Specialist – Accounting & Tax Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Specialist to manage the full accounting cycle and ensure tax compliance for our subsidiary in Tanzania. The role involves close collaboration with the headquarters finance team and external partners such as banks and auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Record, review and file daily financial vouchers of the subsidiary.
• Perform accurate monthly, quarterly and annual bookkeeping and maintain general ledgers and sub‑ledgers.
• Prepare local statutory financial statements on schedule.
• Calculate, file and pay all corporate taxes (income tax, VAT, withholding tax) in accordance with Tanzanian tax laws.
• Monitor tax regulation updates and ensure continuous compliance.
• Handle daily tax matters including registration and invoice management, and support tax audits.
• Act as the financial liaison with tax authorities, banks, audit firms, law firms and other external institutions.
• Manage bank account activities (opening, changes, fund transfers) and maintain banking relationships.
• Coordinate external annual audits, provide required documentation and follow up on progress.
• Support the headquarters finance team with financial data, cost control, expense verification and annual budgeting.
• Safeguard important financial documents to ensure data security and integrity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, recognized in Tanzania (CPA Tanzania preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of finance experience in Tanzanian companies, covering the full financial operations cycle.
• Hands‑on experience with local tax filing, compliance and liaison with tax authorities.
• Proven coordination with local banks and external audit institutions.
• Proficiency in mainstream local financial software and office applications.
• Fluent in English and Swahili (working proficiency).
• High integrity, strong sense of responsibility and ability to work independently under pressure.
