Finance Officer – Mobile Money Disbursements

About the role

This position is responsible for managing mobile money disbursements and cash operations for a humanitarian organization. The Finance Officer ensures timely, accurate payments to beneficiaries while maintaining strong controls and supporting risk‑management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily mobile money transactions, verify documentation, and maintain sufficient float for disbursements.
• Conduct weekly reconciliations, resolve failed or rolled‑back payments, and ensure 100% accuracy of documentation.
• Provide trend analysis on mobile money usage and maintain accurate balance‑sheet accounts.
• Support mobile money audits, monitor unusual transaction patterns, and assist investigations with reconciled data.
• Deliver quarterly training to field and finance staff on mobile money procedures and fraud prevention.
• Collaborate with service providers to troubleshoot technical issues and improve transaction efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mobile money disbursements and cash management.
• Familiarity with financial reconciliation, reporting, and audit support.
• Ability to identify and mitigate transaction risks.
• Experience delivering training and creating standard operating procedures.
