Finance Manager – Dar es Salaam

About the role

GIZ Tanzania is looking for a Finance Manager to join its Service Unit in Dar es Salaam. The role supports project teams by handling financial contracts, budgeting, and project accounting while ensuring compliance with donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Advise project managers on financial and administrative matters, including contract management and value‑for‑money assessments.
• Prepare budgets, cost forecasts and monitor expenditures using SAP S/4HANA and Microsoft Excel.
• Compile annual financial reports for funders and respond to donor queries.
• Support internal and external audits, contract monitoring, receivable clearing and project closures.
• Coordinate with GIZ Head Office on international contracts and financing agreements.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in international development or public sector projects.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of German or Swahili is a plus.
