Expat HD Mechanic – Mining Equipment Maintenance

About the role

The Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is looking for an Expat Heavy‑Duty (HD) Mechanic to join the Engineering & Services team. You will be responsible for maintaining plant and mobile equipment safely and efficiently, supporting gold production targets while adhering to Barrick’s safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Report defects and breakdowns on shift and provide effective maintenance solutions.
• Perform mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and upgrades on plant and mobile equipment.
• Conduct troubleshooting, fault finding, and corrective maintenance to minimise unplanned downtime.
• Ensure equipment isolation, work‑at‑height, and confined‑space procedures are followed.
• Carry out pre‑start checks, inspections, and preventive‑maintenance (PM) inspections.
• Provide accurate feedback to supervisors and complete shift hand‑over processes.
• Support on‑the‑job training and up‑skilling of the workforce.

Required profile

• Experience in heavy‑duty mechanical maintenance within a mining or industrial environment.
• Ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
