Engineering Expert

About the role

The Engineering Expert will join Micro1’s engineering team to design, develop and maintain software solutions that support both partner organisations and internal operations. This full‑time position is based on‑site in Tanzania and focuses on delivering reliable, secure and scalable systems.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse technical requirements and translate business needs into robust software designs.
• Develop, test and maintain applications using modern development practices.
• Implement scalable architectures and ensure performance optimisation.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce quality and security standards.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Document technical processes and contribute to knowledge‑base management.
• Mentor junior team members and promote continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in software engineering, including design, development, testing and maintenance.
• Strong background in structured, process‑driven environments.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and effective collaboration within cross‑functional teams.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
