Engineer 3 – Underground Mine Planning

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti is seeking an Engineer 3 to lead underground mine planning at the Geita Gold Mine in Tanzania. You will develop optimal development options, produce schedules, forecasts and budgets, and support execution across short‑, medium‑ and long‑term horizons.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain physical schedules for the underground mine, aligned with reserve confidence and life‑of‑mine plans.
• Produce production forecasts and budgeting to meet physical and financial targets.
• Identify and evaluate resource opportunities to maximise the gold‑mine asset potential.
• Authorise and oversee schedule creation by junior planners, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Design and implement systems, standards, procedures and guidelines for the Mine Planning department.
• Support Operational Excellence initiatives and drive value creation.
• Ensure a safe work environment and adherence to SHE&C policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in underground mine planning and scheduling.
• Ability to translate resource confidence into accurate physical schedules.
• Strong analytical skills for resource identification and development optimisation.
• Capability to develop and enforce planning standards and procedures.
• Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship and corporate values.
