Director of Projects

About the role

We are looking for a senior Director of Projects to lead the strategic planning, governance and execution of high‑value capital and operational projects at Geita Gold Mine. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will oversee multiple Stay‑in‑Business projects aimed at boosting underground productivity through technology and process optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of concurrent SIB projects (US$1.5‑10 million) while excluding ore reserve development and other capital‑nature items.
• Identify and remove bottlenecks across drilling, blasting, mucking, hauling and hoisting to improve productivity.
• Deploy and integrate underground technologies such as Fleet Management Systems and Ventilation‑on‑Demand.
• Scope projects, allocate resources and manage internal staff, consultants, contractors and EPCM partners.
• Ensure compliance with AngloGold Ashanti standards, safety policies and company guidelines.
• Collaborate with site management to define objectives, success criteria and obtain approvals.
• Organise projects into manageable clusters and apply effective monitoring tools.
• Lead risk management, procurement and contract administration to keep schedules and budgets on track.
• Develop detailed project budgets and multi‑year CAPEX forecasts.

• Proven senior‑level experience in underground mining project delivery.
• Strong strategic vision and ability to manage complex, multi‑disciplinary teams.
