About the role

The Direct Sales Agent will drive customer acquisition, onboarding and revenue growth for the bank’s Mbeya branch. Working directly with prospective clients, you will promote a range of banking products, build lasting relationships and meet defined sales targets.

Key responsibilities

  • Source, engage and acquire new customers through field visits, referrals and networking.
  • Promote and sell bank products such as accounts, loans, deposits, insurance and cards.
  • Conduct product presentations, explain features and address client queries.
  • Complete account opening forms and ensure KYC and regulatory compliance.
  • Achieve daily, weekly and monthly sales targets.
  • Provide market feedback, monitor competitor activity and identify new business opportunities.
  • Perform cold‑calling and follow‑up on leads to increase market share.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships for retention and cross‑selling.
  • Hand over customers to personal bankers and branch managers as required.

Required profile

  • First degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Strong behavioural competencies such as articulating information, following procedures, teamwork and meeting timescales.
  • Ability to conduct needs analysis and provide accurate product advice.
