Country Accountant – Dar es Salaam

About the role

Rentokil Initial Group is looking for a full‑time Country Accountant to join its finance team in Dar es Salaam. The role will own the general ledger, month‑end close, tax compliance and audit coordination for the Tanzanian entity.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts, trial balances and balance‑sheet reconciliations in line with IFRS.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor payments, bank reconciliations and petty‑cash reviews.
• Prepare and file VAT returns via EFD/VFD, compute WHT, manage monthly PAYE, NSSF, WCF and SDL deductions.
• Act as primary contact for annual external audits and local tax audits, providing schedules and supporting documentation.
• Produce rolling cash‑flow forecasts, manage TZS/USD FX exposure per BOT regulations and monitor working‑capital and inventory levels.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• CPA (Tanzania) qualification with active NBAA registration (CPPP or CPA).
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience in Tanzania, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax law, TRA electronic platforms and IFRS.
• Professional fluency in English and Swahili, both written and spoken.
