About the role

The SCOPE Tanzania Coordinator will lead the coordination, communication and programme support for the SCOPE Tanzania network, working closely with implementing organisations, schools, teachers, learners and community partners across Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate day‑to‑day activities of the SCOPE Tanzania network and facilitate collaboration among nine implementing organisations.
  • Maintain regular communication with schools, teachers, learners, communities and partners.
  • Plan, organise and monitor network meetings, workshops, learning events and other relevant activities.
  • Document programme experiences, success stories, lessons learned and good practices.
  • Support knowledge sharing between SCOPE Tanzania and other ReSCOPE country chapters.
  • Promote whole‑school approaches to agroecology, permaculture, biodiversity conservation and climate resilience.
  • Assist partners in integrating practical, locally relevant approaches into school and community activities.
  • Contribute to programme reporting, documentation and communication materials.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date database of partners, activities and achievements.
  • Represent SCOPE Tanzania/TABIO in meetings, events and stakeholder engagements.
  • Support resource mobilisation, partnership development and identification of growth opportunities.

Required profile

  • University degree in environmental studies, agriculture, education, community development, natural resources management, development studies or related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in programme coordination, environmental education, sustainable agriculture, climate resilience or community development.
  • Demonstrated experience working with schools, communities, civil‑society organisations or development networks.
  • Knowledge of agroecology, permaculture, biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation or environmental education.
  • Strong coordination, communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience organising meetings, workshops, training events and multi‑stakeholder activities.
  • Excellent report writing, documentation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar and willingness to travel as required.
