Chief Technology & Operations Officer (CTM) – Tanzania

About the role

The Chief Technology & Operations Officer & Country Technology Manager (CTM) for Tanzania will steer the bank’s technology and operations agenda, aligning group, regional and local priorities with regulatory requirements and growth ambitions. Reporting to the Country Management Team, you will partner with regional technology, operations, business leaders and regulators to build a resilient, high‑performing operating environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute Tanzania’s Technology and Operations strategy in line with Group and Regional policies.
• Lead transformational programmes focused on digital innovation, process simplification and continuous operational improvement.
• Ensure delivery of stable, secure and efficient technology services through performance metrics, SLAs and control mechanisms.
• Govern major change initiatives such as regulatory compliance projects, strategic investments, M&A and divestitures.
• Strengthen risk management practices by identifying, escalating, mitigating and reporting material risks.
• Maintain full compliance with internal policies, legal and regulatory requirements while managing stakeholder relationships.
• Promote an innovative culture using agile methodologies and scalable operating models.
• Build and sustain a diverse, inclusive, high‑performing team with strong succession planning.

Required profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience in technology, operations or governance within a complex, highly regulated financial services environment.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale transformation, digitisation and operational improvement initiatives.
• Deep knowledge of financial services regulation and ability to engage effectively with regulators and auditors.
• Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities.
