Business Development Officer

About the role

As a Business Development Officer at NBC, you will drive growth of the Micro‑SME loan portfolio across the Kua Nasi, Agriculture and La Riba segments. You will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding and managing borrowing customers while ensuring compliance with the bank’s credit policies and product procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Grow a quality loan portfolio by onboarding eligible Micro‑SME customers and following up on sales leads within agreed TAT.
• Identify, explore and negotiate lending opportunities with existing and new customers.
• Conduct credit underwriting: receive, review and assess credit applications, liaise with CRC members, and ensure all documentation complies with product manuals.
• Manage approved loans: monitor adherence to terms, conduct post‑disbursement visits, maintain records, and facilitate renewals or refinancing.
• Mobilize deposits and cross‑sell NBC’s products to Micro‑SME clients.
• Act as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders, providing advisory support and reporting to CRC meetings.

Required profile

• Experience recruiting and managing Micro‑SME borrowing customers.
• Proven ability to conduct credit appraisal and underwriting in line with bank procedures.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Capability to monitor loan performance and implement turnaround measures.
