Assistant Accountant – PPB Direct Financing Support

About the role

WWF Tanzania is implementing the People Powering Biodiversity (PPB) Project in the Ruvuma Landscape. The organization seeks an Assistant Accountant to provide direct financing support for the PPB initiative, working closely with the Ruvuma Landscape Accountant and travelling regularly to field sites.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Ruvuma Landscape Accountant with financial reporting and bookkeeping for the PPB project.
• Support the processing and monitoring of program resources allocated directly to project activities.
• Prepare and reconcile financial documents related to field travel and on‑site expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with WWF Tanzania’s financial policies and donor requirements.

Required profile

• Background in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Willingness to work on a short‑term (6–12 months) contract and travel regularly to the Masasi area.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Landscape Accountant.
