Accountant – Finance Operations (Tanzania)

About the role

This position provides operational finance support in Tanzania, ensuring local compliance and ownership of key accounting processes such as reconciliations, month‑end close, and tax reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly business review reports, MIS, and OPEX reports for Tanzania.
• Support the Finance Manager with month‑close, quarter‑close, year‑close, and financial controls.
• Ensure accounting follows local IFRS and US GAAP standards.
• Manage intercompany transactions, payment processing, and cost‑accounting analysis.
• Assist in budget preparation, monitor spend against board plans, and maintain OPEX/revenue ratios.
• Oversee order‑to‑cash, AP/AR reconciliations, and balance‑sheet accuracy.
• Handle tax compliance, filing, and maintenance of tax certificates.
• Coordinate asset tagging, physical inventory, and related documentation.
• Support internal and external audits by providing working papers and documentation.
• Liaise with regional finance, financial institutions, and revenue authorities.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CPA or ACCA.
• Strong knowledge of local IFRS and US GAAP.
• Experience in month‑end/quarter‑end close and financial reporting.
