Workshop Manager

About the role

The Workshop Manager will lead all workshop and fleet maintenance activities, ensuring high availability of vehicles while minimizing downtime. This role combines technical oversight with strategic planning to keep the fleet operating efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Monitor maintenance costs, enforce cost‑control measures and manage workshop budgets.
• Supervise mechanics, technicians, electricians, welders and workshop supervisors.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, procurement planning and relationships with external service providers.
• Investigate major mechanical failures and apply corrective actions while ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards and safety/environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Transport Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of workshop management experience in logistics, transportation or heavy‑equipment sectors.
• Proven experience leading technical and maintenance teams and managing fleets of over 200 heavy commercial vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, tankers and fleet maintenance systems.
• Excellent planning, budgeting and inventory‑management capabilities.
