Underground Mine Planning Engineer (Level 2)

About the role

We are looking for an Engineer 2 to lead underground mine planning activities, producing schedules, forecasts and budgets that align with the company’s vision and values. The role supports short‑, medium‑ and long‑term planning horizons and works closely with geotechnical and long‑term mining engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short‑term underground mine plans based on long‑term designs and production targets.
• Design stopes considering ore quality, geotechnical constraints and equipment capabilities.
• Schedule stoping activities to meet production targets while optimizing resource utilisation and cost.
• Deliver the annual physicals budget, quarterly forecasts and rolling monthly schedules.
• Produce monthly variance reports and communicate any threats to budget delivery.
• Prepare regular management reports highlighting key performance indicators.
• Collaborate with geotechnical and long‑term mining engineers to integrate engineering constraints.
• Support the adoption of innovative equipment, technology and work methods to optimise schedule delivery.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, environment and compliance (SHE&C) procedures.

Required profile

• Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
• Minimum of 5 years operational experience in an underground mine.
• Proven experience in underground mine planning and scheduling.
