Underground Grader Operator – Mining

About the role

The Underground Grader Operator will work at Bulyanhulu Gold Mine, ensuring haul roads, ramps and access ways are safely maintained underground. This position supports the efficient movement of personnel and equipment while adhering to strict safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate an underground motor grader to grade and repair haul roads, ramps and travelways.
• Maintain road surfaces for proper drainage, traction and safe vehicle movement.
• Remove spillage, debris and uneven surfaces from roadways.
• Conduct pre‑operational inspections and routine maintenance on the grader.
• Identify and report mechanical issues, hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Collaborate with truck operators and supervisors to prioritize maintenance tasks.
• Follow mine plans, ventilation requirements and traffic management systems.
• Complete documentation, logs and reports accurately.
• Assist with other underground tasks as directed.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years experience operating graders, preferably in underground mining.
• Valid equipment operator certification or relevant licences.
• Familiarity with underground mining practices, safety standards and equipment.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and minor repairs.
• Ability to read and interpret mine plans and work instructions.
