Tree Implementation and Audit Internship (Tanzania)

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking motivated interns to support its tree‑implementation program in Tanzania. You will work on‑site to audit tree nurseries, verify farmer enrolments and payments, and ensure accurate reporting for carbon‑credit initiatives. This paid internship offers hands‑on experience in agricultural development and data verification.

Key responsibilities

• Nursery & Seedling Audits: Conduct physical inspections at tree nurseries to verify production numbers, seedling quality, and distribution of farming inputs.
• Farmer Enrolment & Payment Verification: Audit enrolment data, confirm farmer identities, orders and payment records through phone calls and field visits.
• Distribution & Reconciliation Audits: Cross‑check the number of seedlings distributed against records, investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Carbon Credit & Beneficiary Audits: Perform field verification of beneficiary data to ensure accurate reporting for international carbon‑credit programs.

Required profile

• Current university student or recent graduate with a strong interest in agriculture, environment or sustainability.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow audit procedures.
• Willingness to travel to field sites across Iringa, Mbeya, Njombe or Moshi.
• Good communication skills for interacting with farmers and team members.
