Trading Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a Trading Assistant to join our coffee trading team in Tanzania. You will support the development of a long‑term commercial portfolio, gaining hands‑on experience across the entire coffee supply chain from crop to cup. The role reports to the General Manager Tanzania and offers strong growth potential in a fast‑paced soft commodities environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑ and post‑purchase analysis to inform coffee sourcing decisions.
• Prepare market reports and curated offer lists for internal teams and clients.
• Assist in basis trading by providing accurate market data and timely insights.
• Maintain internal and project reports, updating donors and stakeholders regularly.
• Oversee contract administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation.
• Collaborate with Quality Control, logistics, and production teams to ensure smooth contract execution.
• Monitor daily trading positions and track profit and loss.
• Follow global and local coffee market trends to support pricing recommendations.
• Compile routine reports on trading activities, shipment progress, and client updates.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, International Trade, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in commodity trading, preferably coffee or agricultural products.
• Good understanding of export‑import processes.
• Strong organizational, analytical and communication abilities.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
