Telecommunication Engineer

About the role

This opportunity supports a major crude oil pipeline and marine export infrastructure project, with responsibility for maintaining and improving critical telecommunications systems across multiple operational sites. The role offers broad technical exposure to fiber‑optic communication networks, PAGA, CCTV, marine VHF radio systems, LAN/WAN, VSAT, microwave, routers, switches, and security‑related telecom systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective and major maintenance on telecom equipment and systems across the project sites.
• Support and troubleshoot telecom infrastructure in an industrial/plant environment, including fault finding, root‑cause analysis and system recovery planning.
• Prepare technical bid evaluations, review invitation‑to‑bid documentation and manage vendors or contractors.
• Produce maintenance reports, standard operating procedures, work packs and end‑of‑test documentation.
• Maintain plant security systems such as video surveillance, access control and intrusion detection.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil & gas, telecommunications or comparable high‑potential technical environment.
• Demonstrated experience delivering preventive, corrective and major maintenance for telecom equipment.
• Proven ability to support telecom infrastructure in industrial settings and to conduct fault analysis and recovery planning.
• Experience preparing bid evaluations, managing vendors and producing technical documentation.

• Radio‑frequency coordination, licence applications and propagation chart preparation.
• CMMS usage and proficiency with MS Office.
