Tele-Remote Operator Trainer

About the role

The Tele-Remote Operator Trainer will lead the training and development of underground loader operators at Bulyanhulu Gold Mine. This role combines hands‑on equipment operation with coaching to improve productivity, safety and cost‑effectiveness in line with Barrick’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct remote operation of loaders in open stopes and oversee loading cycles.
• Perform towing, recovery and road‑building activities while monitoring cycle times.
• Identify and implement efficiency improvements for loading, cycle and road‑building operations.
• Coach and mentor trainees on LH307, LH410 and LH514 Sandvik loaders and remote‑operation techniques.
• Provide technical and field support to increase work effectiveness and lower operational costs.
• Collaborate with the Development Superintendent to align training with safety and production targets.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as a tele‑remote loader operator in large underground mining operations.
• Proven ability to achieve high production rates (e.g., 40 t/hr on LH410).
• Experience with automation systems in an underground environment.
• Qualification in Mining or a related technical field, supported by practical mining experience.
• Strong time‑management, scheduling and planning skills.
• Ability to conduct hazard identification and risk assessments.
