Technical Manager – Animal Nutrition

About the role

The Technical Manager – Animal Nutrition will lead technical initiatives and provide customer support for a portfolio of animal nutrition products. Based in Dar es Salaam, the role involves close collaboration with customers, sales teams, feed manufacturers, veterinarians, and livestock producers to improve animal performance through evidence‑based nutritional practices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advisory services to customers in poultry, dairy, beef, aquaculture, and feed manufacturing.
• Develop and implement nutrition programs that enhance animal health, productivity and profitability.
• Support the sales team with customer visits, technical presentations, product demonstrations and training.
• Investigate production challenges and recommend nutritional and management interventions.
• Design, monitor and evaluate field trials and product performance assessments.
• Deliver technical training to customers, distributors and internal personnel.
• Prepare technical reports, articles, presentations and marketing support materials.
• Build and maintain relationships with feed mills, integrated livestock operations, veterinarians and industry stakeholders.
• Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies and market developments in animal nutrition and health.
• Represent the company at exhibitions, conferences, seminars and industry events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Livestock Production, Feed Technology or a related agricultural discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in animal nutrition, animal health, feed manufacturing or livestock production.
• Practical experience in poultry production (broilers, layers, breeders) is essential.
• Strong understanding of animal nutrition principles, feed ingredients and feed additives.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and report‑writing abilities.
• Strong presentation and training capabilities.
• Ability to interpret production data and develop practical recommendations.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑management skills with a commercial, customer‑oriented mindset.
