Technical Lead – Tanzania Article 6 Framework

About the role

Palladium is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to provide strategic and technical guidance for the development of Tanzania's National Article 6 Framework. The role will support the UK‑Tanzania Green Growth Facility and the Vice President's Office in preparing Tanzania for participation in international carbon market mechanisms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and drafting of the National Article 6 Framework, ensuring alignment with UNFCCC requirements.
• Conduct a consolidated assessment of Tanzania's readiness, identifying gaps, opportunities, and implementation needs.
• Provide recommendations on registry operations, ITMO tracking, and institutional arrangements.
• Coordinate closely with the Tanzanian Policy Lead, government focal points, and sector stakeholders.
• Deliver analytical coherence across all outputs and ensure high‑quality final documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in climate policy, carbon markets, or related environmental frameworks.
• Strong analytical and drafting skills with a track record of producing policy‑level documents.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an international, multi‑disciplinary team.
• Familiarity with UNFCCC Article 6 mechanisms is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of carbon market registries and ITMO tracking systems.
• Expertise in policy analysis and framework development.
