Store Keeper - Construction Site

About the role

A well-established construction company, recruited through Shugulika Africa Limited, is looking for an experienced Store Keeper in Lubumbashi. The role manages site inventory and materials, covering receipt, storage, issuance and tracking of construction materials so that records stay accurate and wastage is kept to a minimum.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily material receipts and consumption at the construction site and verify stock levels regularly against recorded data.
• Receive incoming materials, check quality and quantity, and update stock registers.
• Issue materials to site personnel according to authorized indents and monitor usage to prevent wastage or misuse.
• Retrieve and account for unused materials at the end of each day and keep stock information up to date on display boards and slates.
• Prepare fortnightly and monthly material consumption reports with supervisors and identify excess or surplus materials.
• Conduct periodic stock updates and inventory checks, and coordinate with suppliers (with purchase department consent) for timely delivery.
• Maintain records of tools, equipment and machinery, and of utility bills such as electricity and water.
• Keep the storeroom clean, organized and in good order.

Required profile

• Graduation in any stream.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building construction (mandatory).
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, able to work independently and accurately under pressure.
• Basic knowledge of construction materials and tools, and good communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with registers or inventory tracking systems.
