Staff Controller – Ports and Terminals

About the role

The Staff Controller supports operational employees at DP World ports by managing duty rosters, leave records, and transactional HR activities. The role ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and labour regulations while maintaining accurate attendance and payroll data.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and review the Daily Operation Staff Schedule from Timekeeping.
• Enter and update time records, attendance, and working hours in the Time & Attendance system.
• Prepare monthly reports on work hours, overtime, and sick/absence data.
• Verify medical receipts, compile monthly medical bill records, and submit them to HR.
• Maintain personnel files with summary sheets for quick reference.
• Respond to employee queries promptly and coordinate with the operations planning team for daily manpower allocation.
• Assign newly joined employees to the daily roster and monitor leave requests, ensuring proper investigation for emergency or sick leave.
• Maintain non‑system records (files, Excel databases) and ensure compliance with labour laws regarding working hours and rest breaks.
• Monitor labour costs and work within established budgets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR administration, staff scheduling, or a similar operational support role.
• Strong knowledge of terminal activities, heavy‑equipment operations, and safety procedures.
• Excellent verbal communication with blue‑collar staff and proven leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Time & Attendance systems.
• Advanced Excel skills for data management and reporting.
• Experience using LRS (Leave Request System) or similar HR software.
