Software Engineer – API & Payment Systems

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain APIs, payment system integrations and backend platform services. The role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams, ensuring high‑quality code and supporting the stability of a high‑throughput transaction platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain APIs, payment integrations and backend services as directed by the CTO.
• Support VPN tunnelling setup, sandbox environment configuration and technical integration testing with mobile network operators and external partners.
• Resolve platform bugs, technical failures and performance issues within agreed timelines to minimise transaction disruptions.
• Write clean, scalable, well‑documented and testable code following established architecture and standards.
• Build and maintain transaction monitoring dashboards for finance, compliance and operations teams.
• Participate in technical integration meetings and assist external partners during implementation and testing phases.
• Maintain version control, deployment procedures and technical documentation.
• Assist with technical audit preparation, including system demonstrations and testing environments.
• Monitor platform stability and contribute to high transaction success rates and minimal downtime.

Required profile

• BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced technical environment.
• Good communication and technical documentation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SQL, JavaScript and Python.
• Experience in API development and systems integration.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and virtual devices.
• Understanding of version control and deployment processes.
• Knowledge of agile delivery or change‑management frameworks.
• Exposure to telecommunications infrastructure (GSM, LTE) is a plus.
