Social Media Manager

About the role

Betway Tanzania is seeking a senior Social Media Manager to own the end‑to‑end social function for the market. You will shape strategy, create content, manage community engagement and activate sponsorships across a fast‑moving, competitive sports‑betting environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously refine the social media strategy for Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and emerging platforms.
• Own the always‑on content calendar, ensuring it aligns with commercial and brand objectives.
• Define platform‑specific formats, frequency, tone and audience targeting.
• Balance proactive and reactive content (approximately 50/50) to keep the brand timely and authentic.
• Champion a social‑first mindset internally and educate stakeholders on social’s role in the marketing mix.
• Brief, oversee and quality‑control all social content, working with creators, agency partners and production teams.
• Ensure all content complies with Tanzania responsible gambling regulations and brand guidelines.
• Oversee community management, setting standards, tone‑of‑voice guidelines and escalation protocols.
• Collaborate with Creative, Sponsorship, Digital and agency partners to amplify brand voice.

Required profile

• Senior, strategic social media operator with a 24/7 conversation mindset.
• Proven ability to act quickly, speak authentically and never miss key moments.
• Experience leading brand voice across multiple platforms in a dynamic market.
• Strong understanding of responsible gambling regulations in Tanzania.
