Site Engineer - Construction Projects

About the role

A reputable construction company, recruited through its client, is looking for an experienced Site Engineer to oversee the technical side of construction projects. The engineer ensures work follows approved plans, specifications and quality standards, supervises site activities, coordinates with contractors and consultants, resolves technical issues and ensures compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise site execution of block work, plaster, gypsum, waterproofing, tiles, putty, paint, texture, aluminium windows and doors, stainless steel railings and facade work.
• Prepare and check sub-contractor bills against the BOQ.
• Study architectural drawings and use HIRISE software for construction activities.
• Hand over shops using checklist A and maintain the quality of all civil works.
• Check lines, levels and plumb in formwork, and verify reinforcement, sleeves and cut-outs against structural drawings.
• Report regularly on progress to the senior engineer and track work against the construction programme.
• Control wastage, supervise and counsel foremen, and keep all site records and documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 6 to 10 years of experience in construction and project management.
• Strong leadership skills to manage the site workforce.
• Confident decision-making and observance of safety requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and applying them on site.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and best practices.
• Use of HIRISE software.
