Service Crew Trainer – Expert

About the role

The Service Crew Trainer – Expert is responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating high‑quality training programmes for underground service crew personnel. Working closely with mine foremen and safety teams, the trainer ensures that crew members operate safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct theoretical and practical training sessions covering installation, maintenance and support tasks in underground environments.
• Assess trainee competencies using approved tools and document results accurately.
• Coach employees on safe work practices, equipment usage, hazard recognition and standard operating procedures.
• Identify skill gaps and develop targeted learning plans for crew members needing additional support.
• Develop, update and maintain training materials such as manuals, SOPs, presentations and assessment forms.
• Integrate safety messages into all training activities and ensure compliance with OSHA, local mining regulations and site policies.
• Participate in safety audits, incident investigations and corrective‑action implementation.
• Support onboarding and re‑training programmes for new hires, contractors and crew transitioning to new roles.

Required profile

• Minimum 7–10 years of underground mining experience, preferably within a service crew function.
• Strong knowledge of underground mining regulations, OEM guidelines and industry best practices.
• Proven ability to deliver both classroom‑style and hands‑on training in challenging environments.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to fostering a safety‑first culture.
