Senior Site Manager - Expat Opportunity

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead procurement, logistics and operational activities at a remote site in Tanzania. The successful candidate will oversee site operations, client relationships, supply‑chain activities, people management and the safe, efficient movement of bulk and industrial materials in a demanding environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day site operations, including loading, off‑loading, distribution and vehicle turnaround.
• Manage procurement, logistics, expediting and supply‑chain activities to ensure continuity of supply.
• Oversee the movement and distribution of fuel, cement, reagents, lubricants and other industrial materials.
• Manage client relationships, operational KPIs, service levels and stakeholder engagement.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, manpower planning, employee performance and development.
• Monitor operational risks, assets, costs and service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with QHSE standards, SOPs, site requirements and operational controls.
• Maintain effective relationships with subcontractors, local authorities and community stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in procurement, logistics, distribution, supply chain and/or site operations.
• University qualification; postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
• Strong Tanzanian or East African operating experience.
• Proven experience working in remote or challenging operational environments.
• Strong understanding of logistics, distribution and supply‑chain processes.
• Experience managing bulk products, industrial materials or complex distribution operations is advantageous.
• Proven client, stakeholder and people‑management experience.
• Strong commercial understanding, including budgets, operational costs and KPIs.
• Good knowledge of HSE requirements and operational controls.
• Highly resilient, self‑sufficient, hands‑on and solutions‑driven.
• Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
