Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will lead cost planning and control for construction and infrastructure projects in Dar es Salaam. This full‑time, on‑site position involves close collaboration with project managers, engineers, contractors and clients to ensure budgets are met and value for money is achieved.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare estimates, bills of quantities, tender documents and contracts.
• Assess variations, conduct cost analyses and deliver accurate financial reporting.
• Review drawings and specifications, monitor site progress and verify measurements.
• Support dispute resolution and claims management as required.
• Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Several years of progressive experience in quantity surveying, preferably in senior or lead roles.
• Professional certification or membership in a recognized quantity surveying body is an advantage.
• Ability to work on‑site in Dar es Salaam and adapt to local regulatory frameworks.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with cost management tools.
• Familiarity with quantity surveying applications.
