Senior Project Manager (Telecoms)

About the role

Huawei is expanding its delivery capabilities across Eastern Africa and is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead end‑to‑end project execution in Tanzania. The role requires deep knowledge of the carrier landscape, especially OCS and Mobile Money, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Own project scope, timelines and deliverables from inception through closeout.
• Assemble, lead and mentor high‑performing project teams, building long‑term local capacity.
• Manage project financials, optimise budgets and allocate resources for maximum efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, aligning expectations and delivering on commitments.
• Drive quality assurance across all milestones, identify risks early and implement swift corrective actions.
• Provide clear, data‑driven progress reports and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on project management experience in the carrier domain.
• Proven track record within top‑tier telecom vendors or operators (e.g., Nokia, Ericsson).
• Strong leadership abilities and experience managing complex stakeholder environments.
• PMP certification highly preferred.
• Open to local candidates.
