Senior Finance and Administration Officer

About the role

Transform Trade is seeking a Senior Finance and Administration Officer to lead financial and administrative functions for its Africa region. Based in Dar es Salaam, the role supports programme delivery across Tanzania and neighbouring project sites, ensuring robust financial stewardship and compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process accounting transactions, produce financial statements, and manage monthly cashbooks and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee payroll processing and maintain positive cash flow for regional operations.
• Handle fund requests, ensure proper filing of all financial documents, and support budget compilation, monitoring, and tracking.
• Provide procurement and logistical support to programme, grant, and partnership teams.
• Ensure compliance with Transform Trade policies, Tanzanian statutory requirements, and donor regulations.
• Maintain and review internal financial controls and policies.
• Report to the Regional Director for Africa and collaborate with the global Head of Finance & Administration.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian government policies, regulations, and administrative procedures, especially NGO registration and statutory compliance.
• Proven experience in finance and administration management within an NGO or development context.
• Ability to safeguard organisational resources and prevent fraud or misuse.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills, with a collaborative approach to working across regions.
