Security Superintendent

About the role

The Security Superintendent will be based at Bulyanhulu Mine in Tanzania and report to the Security Manager. The role ensures the implementation of security activities across the process plant and general operations while supervising contractors, police, and local guards in line with Barrick standards and the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate security resources and logistics to deliver timely and professional services.
• Maintain vigilance on performance metrics and ensure shift‑by‑shift alignment with operational targets.
• Report deficiencies promptly to protect company assets.
• Prepare accurate oral, written, and incident reports.
• Investigate security breaches and escalate findings to the Security Manager.
• Ensure access control procedures and guard post protocols are consistently applied.
• Inspect card readers, access points, and fence lines daily and weekly, reporting faults to systems technicians.
• Train and certify all security personnel on policies, procedures, and equipment usage.

Required profile

• Accountable for implementing general security activities at a mining operation.
• Experience supervising contractors, police forces, and local security guards.
• Knowledge of Barrick/BGML security standards and the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights.
• Ability to produce detailed administrative and incident reports.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on zero‑harm and sustainable security practices.
