Sales Manager

About the role

The Sales Manager will drive acquisition of new companies and expand Verto’s footprint across Tanzania and the wider East African region. Leveraging local networks and B2B sales expertise, the role directly supports the company’s growth strategy by securing new clients and increasing revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Grow revenue by acquiring new customers and upselling existing accounts.
• Expand the customer base in Tanzania, targeting trade, logistics and SME sectors.
• Design and execute region‑specific sales plans aligned with Verto’s objectives.
• Implement streamlined sales processes, accurate forecasting and consistent deal closure.
• Build strong relationships with customers, partners and industry stakeholders.
• Use performance metrics and analytics to refine strategies and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align messaging and deliver tailored solutions.
• Monitor competitor activity and stay informed on industry trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in payments, fintech or foreign‑exchange.
• Strong local network and deep understanding of business practices in Tanzania and the East African region.
• Proven track record of meeting revenue targets and scaling sales teams in competitive markets.
• Knowledge of Tanzanian economic trends and key sectors related to cross‑border payments.
• Experience in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
