Reservations Supervisor

About the role

Essque Hotels, a luxury hospitality brand in Zanzibar, is seeking a full‑time Reservations Supervisor to lead its reservations team on‑site. The role is responsible for managing daily room bookings, inventory, and rate accuracy across all distribution channels while delivering exceptional guest service.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily reservations operations, including individual and group bookings.
• Monitor inventory, rates and availability on all systems and channels.
• Supervise and train reservations agents, set performance standards and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Handle complex or escalated guest requests and maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate closely with Front Office, Sales and Revenue Management to optimise occupancy and revenue.
• Prepare regular reservation reports and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel reservations or front office, preferably in a luxury property.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages a plus.
• Experience in training, coaching or supervising staff in a hospitality environment.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and holidays as required.

Required skills

• Hotel property management system (PMS) and reservation software.
• Online distribution channel management.
• Proficiency with MS Office or similar office applications.
