Relationship Officer Supervisor

About the role

The Relationship Officer Supervisor leads a team of Relationship Officers to drive savings, insurance and loan product uptake while ensuring portfolio quality and compliance. This role combines people management, sales leadership, credit oversight and operational coordination to support vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of Relationship Officers and monitor performance against targets.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and field support; conduct performance evaluations and recommend promotions or terminations.
• Lead marketing and business development for savings, insurance and loan products, identifying new client opportunities.
• Validate loan appraisals, conduct spot checks and enforce zero‑tolerance on missed repayments.
• Ensure all operations comply with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, including loan disbursement and cash handling.
• Handle client complaints, conduct re‑briefings and ensure timely resolution.
• Identify staffing needs, coordinate recruitment and plan training programs for the team.
• Monitor portfolio performance, track savings, insurance and loan metrics, and take corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with management on market expansion, staffing budgets and system setup.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising Relationship Officers or similar field staff.
• Strong leadership and team‑building abilities.
• Demonstrated track record of meeting savings, insurance and loan targets.
• Ability to assess credit risk and enforce portfolio quality standards.
• Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in micro‑finance environments.
