Relationship Manager – Micro SME

About the role

The Relationship Manager – Micro SME will drive business growth for micro‑small and medium enterprises, acting as the primary point of contact between NBC and its micro‑SME customers. The role combines sales, credit analysis and product development to expand the bank’s footprint in this segment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with micro‑SME customers, acting as the primary bank contact.
• Identify, negotiate and close business opportunities to meet annual growth targets across branches.
• Lead customer engagement activities such as focus groups, forums and workshops to understand needs and drive loyalty.
• Support branches in credit structuring, loan appraisal and guarantee fund management for micro‑SME lending.
• Monitor loan portfolio quality, ensure compliance with policies and recommend interventions to meet performance indicators.
• Collaborate with product teams to enhance existing micro‑SME products, price them competitively and launch new offerings.

Required profile

• First degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics or related field; Master’s degree or banking certification is a plus.
• Minimum three years of banking experience with a strong focus on micro‑finance lending and client relationship development.
• Ability to work under pressure, travel to up‑country locations and handle complex environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Credit structuring and loan appraisal expertise.
• Financial analysis and risk assessment capabilities.
• Strong quantitative and problem‑solving skills.
