Relationship Manager – Micro SME

About the role

The Relationship Manager – Micro SME will be responsible for driving business growth within the micro‑small and medium enterprise segment. Acting as the bank’s primary contact for Micro‑SME customers, the role supports branches in acquiring new business, managing existing relationships, and ensuring the loan portfolio meets quality and performance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective Micro‑SME customers, serving as the main point of contact.
• Assist branches in identifying and negotiating business opportunities to meet annual growth targets.
• Organise and lead customer engagements such as focus groups, forums, and workshops to understand needs and foster loyalty.
• Manage sales leads through the full pipeline, from initial contact to contract maturity across all branches.
• Support the Micro‑SME lending manager in securing guarantee funds and structuring credit facilities in line with bank policies.
• Review loan portfolios, recommend interventions, and monitor portfolio quality to stay within acceptable risk levels.
• Collaborate with product teams to develop, price, and launch new Micro‑SME products, and monitor their performance.
• Benchmark bank offerings against competitors and propose improvements.
• Address risk, compliance, and audit issues related to the Micro‑SME business.

Required profile

• Proven experience in SME banking or related financial services.
• Strong understanding of credit appraisal, loan structuring, and risk management.
• Ability to work closely with branch teams, product development, and credit units.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Results‑oriented mindset with a focus on business growth and customer retention.
