Regional Market Operations Associate – East Africa

About the role

The Regional Market Operations Associate will support clients, banks and internal teams across East Africa by managing cash transfers, settlement funding and trade documentation. Based in Tanzania, you will ensure smooth processing of transactions, maintain accurate records and act as the primary point of contact for operational queries.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash transfers, settlement funding and proof of payments for clients and banks.
• Send contract notes and trade confirmations within required timelines.
• Open client accounts, complete KYC documentation and coordinate with custodians for account setup.
• Monitor account balances and funding availability before trading activity.
• Update clients on dividends, corporate actions and market events across regional exchanges.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements.
• Maintain the trades register and ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Coordinate DVP/FOP settlements with custodians and brokers.
• Perform daily cash and position reconciliations with internal finance, custodians and brokers.
• Investigate and resolve settlement issues, failed trades and discrepancies.
• Provide timely updates to clients on operational queries.
• Prepare internal reports on trades, cash positions and client activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in market operations, settlement or cash management.
• Strong understanding of KYC processes and account maintenance.
• Experience working with custodians, brokers and internal finance teams.
• Ability to monitor and reconcile cash and position data accurately.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and internal coordination.
