Radiologist

About the role

The Aga Khan Health Service, Tanzania is seeking a qualified Consultant Radiologist to join its JCI‑accredited, 170‑bed teaching hospital in Dar es Salaam. The role involves providing expert imaging interpretation and clinical advice to support diagnosis and treatment across a wide range of specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret diagnostic images from X‑ray, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, PET, fusion imaging, ultrasound and interventional procedures.
• Collaborate with clinicians to develop and refine imaging protocols for optimal image quality and patient safety.
• Provide timely radiology reports and consultative advice to aid clinical decision‑making.
• Maintain clear communication with both clinical and non‑clinical staff to ensure a high‑quality imaging service.
• Participate in on‑call rotation as required.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialist qualification in radiology.
• Experience in a tertiary or teaching hospital setting.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and multidisciplinary teamwork.
