Quantity Surveyor – Cost Estimation Specialist

About the role

Our client, a well‑established building and civil engineering contractor, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to lead cost estimation and budgeting for a variety of residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects. The role combines technical analysis of drawings with strategic cost control to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs) and tender documents.
• Analyse project drawings, specifications and contract requirements.
• Conduct quantity take‑offs and cost analysis for construction projects.
• Develop project budgets and monitor actual costs against approved budgets.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, consultants and contractors to achieve cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• 5–10 years of proven experience in quantity surveying and construction cost estimation.
• Strong expertise in BOQ preparation, quantity take‑offs, budgeting, cost estimation and tendering.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Experience with cost estimation software.
