Project Assistant – Gender and Nutrition

About the role

The Project Assistant – Gender and Nutrition supports the field implementation of the WEZESHA Project in Makere, Tanzania. Reporting to the Project Officer, the role focuses on promoting gender equality and improved nutrition outcomes through community mobilisation, beneficiary engagement, and accurate monitoring and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination and implementation of gender‑ and nutrition‑sensitive activities according to approved workplans.
• Conduct community mobilisation, awareness sessions and household follow‑up visits to ensure inclusive participation of women, youth, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
• Facilitate trainings, community dialogues and beneficiary engagement activities.
• Promote gender equality, nutrition awareness, dietary diversity and positive behaviour change through Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) interventions.
• Identify and document gender and nutrition‑related challenges, good practices and lessons learned.
• Collect, verify and maintain accurate project and beneficiary data, and contribute to routine monitoring and timely reporting.

Required profile

• Experience in community mobilisation and beneficiary engagement in a field‑based context.
• Ability to travel regularly within the project area and work onsite.
• Knowledge of gender equality and nutrition‑sensitive programming.
• Strong documentation and data‑collection skills.
