Program Coordinator

About the role

The Program Coordinator will support the Head of Program Implementation and the Senior Program Manager in planning, coordinating and monitoring program activities across districts in Tanzania. The role requires strong analytical abilities, data‑driven decision making and extensive travel to field offices.

Key responsibilities

• Program planning and implementation across districts.
• Review and track work plans, weekly progress reports, and identify risks.
• Summarize program priorities and escalations for senior management.
• Participate in weekly field management meetings and provide updates.
• Track financial reports, support budget monitoring and compliance.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and proactive risk mitigation.
• Prepare donor updates and communications.
• Contribute to project design, methodology and impact opportunities.
• Coordinate donor visits and support district reporting.
• Facilitate program reviews and incorporate lessons into future projects.
• Provide administrative support, recruitment and onboarding of staff.
• Organize and facilitate programmatic workshops and trainings.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of relevant experience in program or project management.
• University degree in Social Work, Community Development, Project Planning or related field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• Fluent English and Swahili; knowledge of local dialects considered an asset.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time and ride a motorbike in challenging terrain.
• Strong interpersonal skills, high integrity and ability to work independently and in teams.
