Procurement Supervisor

About the role

The Procurement Supervisor will lead the day‑to‑day procurement activities that support Perseus Mining’s operations in Tanzania. Reporting to senior supply‑chain leadership, the role ensures timely, compliant and cost‑effective acquisition of goods and services while providing data‑driven insights for continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise processing of Purchase Requisitions, RFQs, Purchase Orders and related documentation.
• Ensure all procurement actions comply with company policies, delegated authority and relevant legislation.
• Coordinate sourcing, evaluate quotations, conduct commercial negotiations and select suppliers.
• Monitor lead times, order backlogs and supplier performance, reporting any risks.
• Support strategic sourcing and cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Analyse spend data, purchasing trends and supplier metrics to produce dashboards and management reports.
• Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key suppliers.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply‑chain, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
• Proven ability to supervise a procurement team.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability.
• Excellent understanding of sourcing, supplier evaluation and negotiation processes.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel – large‑dataset analysis, reporting and dashboard creation.
