Procurement and Administration Officer

About the role

A well-established company in the mining supply and industrial distribution sector is looking for a proactive, well-organised Procurement and Administration Officer based in Dar es Salaam. The role covers end-to-end procurement, including supplier coordination, stock management, logistics and import/export, alongside administrative and executive support for HR, compliance and operational logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and communicate with suppliers and vendors
• Monitor stock levels and initiate timely reordering
• Prepare and manage import and export documentation, and liaise with customs officials and clearing agents
• Coordinate logistics and transportation of goods, and conduct monthly stock-taking
• Maintain an accurate vendor database and generate daily and monthly procurement reports
• Process employment contracts, work permit applications for expatriate staff and maintain employee records
• Ensure compliance with legal, governmental and regulatory requirements
• Manage office maintenance, provide logistical support and assist senior management with administrative tasks and meeting coordination

Required profile

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in procurement, administration or related fields
• Fluent written and spoken English; Swahili is an added advantage
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and time-management skills
• Team-oriented, flexible and trustworthy with confidential information
