Part-time Data Collector – Field Surveys (143 positions)

About the role

Raising The Village (RTV) is seeking 143 part‑time Data Collectors to support field surveys across Kyerwa, Karagwe, Missenyi and Muleba districts in Tanzania. You will work directly with the Venn department, using digital tools to gather high‑quality data that informs programme monitoring and evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Attend comprehensive training on evaluation procedures and digital data‑collection tools.
• Participate in pre‑testing of survey instruments to ensure reliability.
• Conduct informed‑consent processes with local leaders and participants.
• Arrange and carry out interviews according to established guidelines.
• Meet daily and overall data‑collection targets while adhering to the work plan.
• Verify that all collected data is accurate, complete and properly cleaned before submission.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow secure data‑handling protocols.
• Care for assigned equipment (tablets, chargers, power banks, bags) throughout the assignment.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by RTV supervisory staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 1‑2 years of experience in field data collection or related activities.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned districts.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital data‑collection tools and tablet operation.
• Basic data‑cleaning and verification techniques.
• Understanding of data‑ethics and respondent confidentiality.
