Packaging Team Leader

About the role

Lead and motivate the shift team at Tier 1 level to deliver world‑class performance in safety, quality, service, cost and morale while complying with health, safety, environmental and quality standards such as ISO/HACCP.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe working environment and ensure all packaging equipment operates in line with EHS standards.
• Deliver products that meet Diageo specifications to internal and external customers.
• Maintain high hygiene standards across all packaging equipment and surrounding areas.
• Plan and control production to meet on‑time, in‑full delivery schedules.
• Reduce waste to achieve or exceed cost targets.
• Apply MMS best practices, use escalation matrix for quality triggers, and drive autonomous maintenance.
• Coach and train operators, manage human resources, and lead the asset‑care agenda for the shift.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Production Management or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in packaging, brewing or related production environment.
• Diploma in Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry or Biochemistry is highly preferable.
• IBD Diploma in Packaging or Brewing is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of MMS tools and techniques for continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with ISO/HACCP standards and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with Harford and Orbis systems.
• Ability to apply RCPS, 5‑Why analysis and autonomous maintenance practices.
