Packaging and Engineering Manager

About the role

The Packaging and Engineering Manager will lead packaging operations and drive the site’s asset care strategy, ensuring efficient, cost‑effective production that meets market demand and business objectives. The role also sponsors supply chain excellence initiatives to improve performance across packaging, engineering, utilities and facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an asset care strategy aligned with Diageo’s engineering excellence standards.
• Manage and report site performance in engineering and packaging to meet AOP targets, focusing on energy, water, greenhouse gases and productivity.
• Exercise prudence in budgeting and financial management for packaging production, asset care, facilities and utilities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, occupational health and safety systems and lead safety sub‑committees.
• Conduct capability reviews, facilitate training and develop engineering and packaging teams.

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Registration with the Engineers Registration Board or equivalent professional body.
• Minimum 8 years first‑line management experience, including 5 years in plant maintenance and 3 years in packaging operations.
• Proven planning and leadership record with strong business mindset.
• Adaptability to change and ability to drive continuous improvement.
